Massive Fire Devastates Pune TVS Showroom
Fire guts 60 bikes, one rescued
A devastating fire tore through a TVS motorbike showroom and service centre on Bund Garden Road in Pune’s Tarabaug area on Monday evening, destroying nearly 60 two-wheelers and causing extensive damage to the facility. One person trapped inside due to heavy smoke was safely rescued, officials confirmed.
The blaze erupted around 8:30 pm on the ground floor of a three-storey building housing the TVS showroom. Fire brigade teams, supported by water tankers, rushed to the scene after receiving an alert. “Our personnel encountered a massive fire with vehicles burning and thick smoke filling the area,” a fire brigade official reported. Using breathing apparatus, firefighters brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes and continued cooling operations to prevent re-ignition.
The fire destroyed a mix of petrol and electric two-wheelers, including new bikes and those brought in for repairs. Electrical wiring, machinery, batteries, spare parts, computers, furniture, and documents were also reduced to ashes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with officials yet to determine its origin.
