Marriyum Aurangzeb's Dramatic New Look Stuns Netizens at Sharif Family Wedding
Senior PML-N leader and Punjab minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, 45, draws massive attention for her sharper features and radiant look at Junaid Safdar's Lahore wedding.
Pakistan’s Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has gone viral on social media following her appearance at the wedding festivities of Junaid Safdar, grandson of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, with online users focusing on what many described as a striking change in her appearance.
Photographs and videos from the high-profile wedding in Lahore showed Aurangzeb with sharper facial features, a leaner look and a noticeably different overall appearance compared to her earlier public outings. The images quickly circulated across platforms, triggering widespread discussion and speculation among users, with many commenting on her apparent transformation.
The viral attention has also reignited public curiosity about Aurangzeb’s political profile. A senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N), the 45-year-old currently serves as Punjab’s Senior Minister for Information and Environment. Her portfolios include environment protection, planning, forestry, fisheries, wildlife and special initiatives, with additional responsibilities related to tourism, archaeology and museums.

Aurangzeb has been associated with the PML-N since 2013 and was elected twice to Pakistan’s National Assembly on seats reserved for women, in 2013 and 2018. She also held the post of Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting from 2016 to 2018 and again between April 2022 and August 2023 during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure.
Born in Lahore in 1980 into a political family, Aurangzeb pursued her early education in Islamabad, completing her FSc in pre-medical studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later earned a master’s degree in economics from Quaid-i-Azam University, followed by an MSc in environment and development from King’s College London in 2003.
Before entering active politics, Aurangzeb spent nearly a decade working with WWF-Pakistan, where she focused on environmental advocacy, sustainable development and global awareness campaigns. While her recent appearance has dominated online chatter, supporters have urged attention to remain on her public work and policy responsibilities rather than personal speculation.
