Manipur Crackdown: Four Militants Nabbed, Arms Seized in Imphal and Churachandpur
Four Militants Arrested in Manipur
Security forces in Manipur arrested four militants from various banned outfits in Imphal East and West districts, police reported on Sunday.
The operations, conducted over Friday and Saturday, targeted members of the United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group - PWG), People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), and People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Yumnam Prem Meitei (23), an active UPPK cadre, was apprehended in Kangla Pat, Imphal West, on Saturday. On Friday, Nanaoh (43), a KCP (PWG) member, was arrested at Polo Ground’s parking area in Imphal West for extorting shops and mediating disputes, including crimes against women, through kangaroo courts and intimidation.

In Imphal East, a PREPAK cadre was detained in Seijang Awang Leikai, and a PLA cadre was nabbed in Napet village on Saturday.
In a separate operation in Churachandpur’s Lamzang village, security forces seized a .303 rifle, a .32 pistol, a single-barrel rifle, two improvised mortars, an improvised rocket bomb, three hand grenades, and cartridges, signaling intensified efforts to curb militancy in the region.
