Mandana Karimi Leaves India After 16 Years; Reveals Iran Crisis "More Aggressive" Amid US Conflict

Actor Mandana Karimi leaves India after 16 years, describing the worsening Iran situation amid US conflict and security threats.

Actor and model Mandana Karimi has spoken about the worsening situation in Iran amid the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, describing life in her home country as increasingly “aggressive” and unstable. Through a series of responses shared on Instagram Stories, Mandana expressed concern over the growing violence, internet shutdowns and restrictions faced by ordinary citizens in Iran. Her comments come at a time of heightened international attention on the geopolitical crisis and its humanitarian impact on civilians inside the country.

Responding to a fan during an online interaction on May 13, Mandana said the situation in Iran had deteriorated further in recent weeks. She claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had returned to the streets and was allegedly intimidating people amid continued unrest. According to the actor, executions were still taking place while internet blackouts and communication restrictions had made it extremely difficult for families to remain connected. She added that even when phone calls managed to go through, communication remained unreliable and expensive for people attempting to contact relatives inside the country.

Mandana also spoke about the broader social and economic impact of the crisis on Iranian citizens. She stated that many people had lost jobs, loved ones and any sense of stability due to the ongoing conflict and political tensions. According to her, the uncertainty surrounding the situation has intensified because of the lack of reliable information emerging from within Iran. She described the atmosphere as fearful and volatile, saying the government appeared to be reacting more aggressively as conditions inside the country became increasingly fragile.

The actor’s remarks came only days after she publicly announced her decision to leave India after living in the country for nearly 16 years. Sharing a video from the airport on social media, Mandana described India as her “second home” and acknowledged that leaving the country was emotionally difficult. She said she was preparing for “new beginnings” in a different country and hinted that the move was linked to personal safety concerns connected to her outspoken activism regarding Iran and political issues affecting her homeland.

Earlier this year, Mandana had confirmed in an interview that she was planning to relocate from India because of security-related concerns. She stated that her vocal support for Iran and criticism of authorities had made her feel unsafe and isolated. The actor also revealed that she had allegedly received repeated death threats and felt she had not received sufficient support from friends, authorities or sections of the media during that period. According to Mandana, the emotional strain of activism and personal security challenges contributed significantly to her decision to leave India.

Mandana Karimi has remained active in public discussions related to Iran and human rights issues over the past few years, often using social media platforms to share her views on political developments and humanitarian concerns. Her latest statements have once again drawn attention to the difficulties faced by civilians amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the region. Professionally, Mandana was last seen in the Netflix film Thar, but her recent public appearances and statements have focused largely on activism, personal safety and the evolving crisis in Iran.
