Maduro Rejects “Slave’s Peace” as U.S. Military Pressure Enters 22nd Week

Venezuela vows resistance as Trump’s carrier fleet circles for 22nd week.

President Nicolás Maduro addressed tens of thousands of supporters from the Miraflores Palace balcony in Caracas on Monday, emphatically rejecting any form of “slave’s peace” or colonial capitulation in the face of sustained United States military pressure that has now entered its twenty-second consecutive week.

Maduro denounced what he termed an unprecedented campaign of “psychological terrorism” involving the permanent deployment of the world’s largest aircraft carrier strike group in the Caribbean, lethal strikes on dozens of vessels in international waters that have claimed at least 83 lives without public evidence of drug trafficking, and President Trump’s weekend declaration effectively closing Venezuelan airspace to government aircraft.

Washington has simultaneously labelled an alleged Maduro-controlled drug cartel a foreign terrorist organisation and intensified naval patrols across the eastern Pacific and Caribbean Sea, actions officially justified as counter-narcotics operations yet widely interpreted in Caracas as the clearest prelude to direct intervention since the Trump administration returned to office in January.

The Venezuelan leader reaffirmed openness to dialogue but exclusively on the basis of mutual respect and absolute sovereignty, asserting that the Venezuelan people have demonstrated unbreakable patriotic resolve against a multi-domain aggression that combines military intimidation with crippling economic sanctions.

As Maduro spoke, hundreds of red-shirted regime loyalists marched through central Caracas chanting anti-imperialist slogans and pledging to defend the nation at any cost, while in Washington President Trump convened his top national security advisers for urgent deliberations on Venezuela, heightening global concern over a potential escalation in the Western Hemisphere.
