Lebanese Group Hezbollah Launches Attacks on Israeli Bases Amid Iran Threat

Hezbollah claims attacks on Israeli bases as Iran issues threats.

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah said it carried out multiple overnight attacks targeting Israeli troops and military bases, as hostilities between the group and Israel continue to escalate amid wider regional tensions.

In a statement, Hezbollah claimed it launched a drone strike on the northern Ya’ara barracks and fired missiles at several Israeli military installations, including the Beit Lid base, the Glilot base near Tel Aviv, and the Atlit base close to Haifa. The group also said it shelled Israeli troops operating in southern Lebanon while launching rockets and drones toward the northern Israeli city of Nahariya.

Hezbollah further claimed that a drone strike carried out earlier this week targeted the Meron Air Operations Command and Control Base, asserting that the attack damaged one of the facility’s radar systems. Israeli authorities have not immediately confirmed the extent of the reported damage. The latest claims come amid a surge in cross-border exchanges between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces along the Lebanon–Israel frontier.

Meanwhile, Iran signaled it could expand its response against both Israeli and American interests in the region. Iran’s military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said it would consider targeting economic infrastructure belonging to the United States and Israel following reports that an Iranian bank had been struck in recent attacks.

In a statement carried by Iranian state television, the command warned that economic centers and banks linked to the United States and Israel could be future targets. Iranian officials also urged civilians across the region to avoid approaching banks within a radius of one kilometre, citing potential security risks if such sites are attacked.

The developments highlight growing fears of a wider regional escalation involving Iran, Israel, and allied groups such as Hezbollah, raising concerns about security, economic stability, and the safety of key infrastructure across the Middle East.
