Kishtwar Operation Intensifies! Three JeM Terrorists, Including Top Commander, Killed

Three JeM Terrorists, Including Top Commander, Killed in Kishtwar Forest Gunfight

Security forces struck a major blow against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, neutralizing two more terrorists on Saturday in an ongoing operation in the snow-laden Chhatru belt, bringing the total to three killed since Friday.

The operation, launched on April 9, targets militants linked to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), including a top commander, Saifullah, active in the Chenab valley for over a year, official sources revealed.

Brigadier J.B.S. Rathi, Assam Rifles’ 5-Sector Commander, hailed the troops’ precision and coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group. “Despite harsh weather and nighttime challenges, our forces ensured zero casualties on our side while eliminating three terrorists,” he told reporters.

The operation employed special forces airlifted by the Indian Air Force, drones, and night-vision devices to trap the militants, reflecting seamless inter-agency synergy.

Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil emphasized the mission’s focus on public safety and vowed to continue until all terrorists are eliminated. “Anyone crossing from Pakistan to disrupt peace will meet this fate,” he warned. Recovered weapons included M-4 carbines and AK rifles, signaling the group’s firepower. While Saifullah’s identity awaits confirmation, Patil dismissed concerns about terrorist numbers, stating, “All who threaten tranquility will be neutralized.”

The Army’s White Knight Corps reported the kills on X, noting the recovery of significant war-like stores.

A parallel operation in Udhampur’s Basantgarh and Ramnagar areas continues, tracking another terrorist group spotted Wednesday. With peace as the priority, Kishtwar’s operation underscores a resolute stand against militancy.
