Putin Announces Easter Ceasefire for Ukraine War
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an Easter Ceasefire to the Ukraine War from Russia's side. In a televised address, Putin said "Today from 18:00 (15:00 GMT) to midnight Sunday (21:00 GMT), Russia announces an Easter Truce," while speaking to Russian chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov.
The news brought cheer to both sides, where soldiers are reportedly completely demoralised by an unending conflict where countless lives have been lost. Russia has steadily made progress in reclaiming lost territory while Ukraine has managed to keep the enemy at the gates despite a confusing world order.
US President Donald Trump has continued to put pressure on both sides to end the conflict and has said yesterday that nobody was willing to play with him towards ending the war. Secretary Rubio also echoed Trump's comments, and said that the US would exit the negotiations very shortly if there was no progress from both sides.
