India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a high-level meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany, marking their fifth interaction since September 2025. The meeting highlighted the steady progress and growing momentum in bilateral ties between the two nations.

According to an official release by the Government of Canada, the ministers discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors including energy, technology, and trade. The statement also emphasized India’s expanding global role as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies and a key partner for Canada.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the joint road map for Canada–India relations announced in October 2025. They stressed the importance of implementing the road map’s priorities and diversifying bilateral trade to enhance economic resilience and long-term stability.
