Israeli Forces Target Presidential Office, National Security Building in Tehran Air Raids
Israel hits Iran’s presidential office and national security council in overnight strikes on Tehran.
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out overnight airstrikes on key government complexes in Tehran, including the Presidential Office and the Supreme National Security Council building, marking a significant escalation in cross-border hostilities following recent U.S.-Israel military actions against Iran. The strikes were confirmed by both Israeli military sources and multiple international reports.
According to the IDF, precision munitions were dropped on the Iranian presidential administrative headquarters as well as critical leadership infrastructure used for security decision-making, signalling a strategic shift toward targeting Iran’s central leadership apparatus. The Israeli strikes are seen as part of a broader campaign to weaken Tehran’s command structures amid ongoing conflict.
The overnight operations come amid a wider regional war that has drawn in multiple fronts. In southern Lebanon, Israeli troops have reportedly entered and engaged Hezbollah positions, expanding the conflict beyond airstrikes alone. Meanwhile, Iranian forces have launched drone attacks on the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, reflecting how the confrontation is affecting neighbouring countries and international military installations.

These strikes follow a series of dramatic developments earlier in the week, including a joint U.S.–Israeli operation that resulted in the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — a move that has significantly heightened tensions and prompted Iranian retaliation with missile and drone attacks against Israeli and U.S. targets across the region.
At this stage, detailed information on casualties or structural damage within Tehran has not been independently verified, and both Iranian governmental responses and international diplomatic reactions are still emerging. The strikes on such high-level government sites, however, underscore the seriousness of the escalating confrontation and the potential for further widespread regional implications.
International observers warn that the conflict — already involving multiple nations and fronts — could have lasting effects on Middle Eastern stability, global energy markets, and diplomatic relations, depending on whether retaliatory cycles continue or de-escalation efforts take hold.
