Israel Strikes Beirut, Iran Attacks Bahrain As War Enters Day 7
Israel strikes Beirut while Iran hits buildings in Bahrain as regional war escalates.
The conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran entered its seventh day on Friday, with tensions escalating across the Middle East as new strikes were reported in several countries. Israel announced a “next phase” in the conflict and carried out airstrikes in Beirut, while Iran launched attacks targeting sites in the Gulf region, including Bahrain’s capital Manama.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said Iran struck a hotel and two residential buildings in Manama, revising an earlier statement that had incorrectly reported two hotels and one residential building had been hit. Authorities said the strikes caused damage but confirmed there were no reported casualties from the incident.
The latest attack followed an Iranian missile strike a day earlier that reportedly sparked a fire at Bahrain’s main state-owned oil refinery. Iranian forces have stepped up attacks across Gulf countries as the conflict continues to expand beyond the original battlefront.

Meanwhile, Israel said its military killed Hezbollah commander Zaid Ali Jumaa in an airstrike in Beirut. Lebanon was drawn into the conflict earlier in the week when Iran-backed Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel, saying it was retaliating for the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The broader war began last Saturday when Israel and the United States launched strikes on Iran that reportedly killed the 86-year-old leader. Iran responded with missile barrages targeting Israeli territory and multiple American military bases in the Gulf region, significantly escalating the confrontation.
The fighting has also extended beyond the Middle East. On Wednesday, the United States reportedly sank an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka, an incident that reportedly left around 80 people dead. The widening geographic scope of the conflict has raised concerns about further regional escalation as hostilities continue into a second week.
