Israel PM Netanyahu To Discuss Iran As Key Topic In Trump Meeting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said his upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump would focus on several major issues, with Iran expected to be the central topic of discussion. Netanyahu described the meeting as their eighth encounter since Trump began his second term as US president.

In a post shared on X before leaving for the meeting, Netanyahu said the repeated engagements between the two leaders reflected the close relationship between Israel and the United States. He called the meeting both an honour and a responsibility, highlighting the importance of discussions on matters affecting Israel’s security and future.

Netanyahu said the talks would cover “all the issues on the table,” but emphasized that Iran would be at the forefront of the agenda. He stated that the primary objectives were to protect Israel’s security, strengthen its capabilities, and continue efforts to expand diplomatic ties in the region.

During his visit, Netanyahu also said he would pay his respects to US Senator Lindsey Graham, whom he described as a longtime friend of Israel. He added that he believed he would be representing the sentiments of Israeli citizens while honouring the senator.

Netanyahu concluded his message by expressing confidence in the outcome of his diplomatic efforts. The meeting between the Israeli and US leaders is expected to address regional security concerns, particularly developments involving Iran and broader Middle East stability.
