Israel PM Netanyahu Speaks With PM Modi On Regional Crisis, Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the ongoing developments in West Asia and review the progress of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership. The call focused on regional security concerns and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral ties across multiple sectors for the mutual benefit of India and Israel. The two leaders also agreed to remain in regular contact amid the evolving geopolitical situation in West Asia.

The discussion took place as tensions continue across the region, with conflicts and diplomatic efforts unfolding in several areas. The prolonged instability has raised concerns over regional security, global trade routes, and energy supplies, prompting leaders worldwide to closely monitor developments.

The call comes amid fresh developments involving Iran and Lebanon. Iran on Thursday announced that it was in the final stages of drafting an agreement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while reports emerged of two Israeli soldiers being killed in Lebanon.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy transit routes, with a significant share of global oil and natural gas shipments passing through the waterway. The ongoing tensions in the region continue to create uncertainty over security, diplomacy, and international energy markets.
