Israel & Hamas Agreed to Trump’s Peace Deal After Intense Talks

Israel-Hamas ceasefire and hostage release sparks hope.

President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of his Gaza peace plan, triggering an immediate ceasefire on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Hours after Israel’s cabinet approved the deal, the agreement took effect, marking a pivotal step toward ending the two-year conflict that has killed over 67,000 people.

The deal, finalized after intense negotiations in Egypt, mandates the release of all 20 living Israeli hostages held by Hamas within days, alongside Israel’s withdrawal from most of Gaza. In exchange, Israel will free approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 250 serving life sentences for deadly attacks. Trump’s plan also includes the return of 28 deceased hostages’ remains and envisions Hamas relinquishing control to apolitical technocrats under international oversight led by Trump and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the agreement as a “diplomatic success” and a “national and moral victory,” crediting Trump’s “unwavering commitment” and Israel’s military pressure. In an emotional call, Netanyahu thanked Trump, declaring, “God Bless Israel. God Bless America.” Hamas welcomed the deal as a path to “ending the war” and urged Trump to ensure Israel’s compliance, demanding full access to humanitarian aid through Rafah crossing.
