Israel Begins Wide-Scale Strikes on Tehran and Southern Iran After Missile Attack
Israel launches wide-scale airstrikes on Tehran, Isfahan, and southern Iran after missiles hit central Israel.
The Israeli military announced on Monday that it had launched a “wide-scale” series of strikes on Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and southern Iran, following missile launches from Iran that killed one person in Israel.
In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, “The IDF has just begun a wide-scale wave of strikes against infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime across Tehran, Isfahan, and southern Iran.” The operation appears to target military and strategic infrastructure in response to ongoing Iranian missile activity.
Earlier on Monday, several blasts shook central Israel after the IDF reported detecting new missiles launched from Iran. Emergency services confirmed that at least two people were seriously injured. Paramedics from Magen David Adom said they were searching multiple sites and treating two unconscious males in serious condition.

The Israeli military reported several impact sites from the incoming missiles and confirmed that defensive systems were actively attempting to intercept threats. The attacks mark the latest escalation in a rapidly intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran.
This escalation follows a series of retaliatory actions by both sides. Iran has previously targeted Israel and Gulf nations with drone and missile strikes in response to airstrikes by the United States and Israel, which reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has accused European countries of indirectly enabling these attacks by supporting sanctions discussions at the United Nations.
The ongoing conflict has caused widespread disruption across the Middle East, including infrastructure damage in Israel, energy facility fires in the Gulf region, and closures of key shipping routes such as the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomatic calls for de-escalation, including from Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, have so far failed to halt the violence.
