Iran Warns Of Wider Conflict Beyond Gulf Following Trump’s Remarks

Iran warns war could spread beyond Gulf region.

Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated sharply after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a fresh warning that any renewed American strikes could expand the conflict beyond the Gulf region. The statement comes amid stalled peace talks between the two countries and heightened rhetoric from both sides.

The warning follows comments by US President Donald Trump, who suggested the possibility of another “big hit” against Tehran. Speaking recently, Trump said he hoped to avoid war but indicated that military action remained an option, adding that any response could come within days depending on developments.

He further stated that the United States is working to bring an end to the conflict “very quickly,” while also hinting at potential timelines for strikes, mentioning that action could occur “maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday,” or sometime next week. The remarks have intensified concerns over a possible rapid escalation in hostilities.

In response, the IRGC warned that any renewed US military action would not remain geographically contained. It stated that Iran’s response would ensure that the conflict spreads beyond the Gulf, signalling a broader regional escalation if attacks are carried out.

The exchange comes at a sensitive diplomatic moment, with negotiations between Washington and Tehran reportedly in limbo. Both sides have continued to issue strong public statements, further complicating efforts to de-escalate tensions and resume formal dialogue.

Analysts say the rhetoric reflects a deepening standoff, with military signalling being used alongside diplomatic messaging. The situation remains fluid, with global observers closely watching for any signs of operational movement or renewed negotiations in the coming days.
