Iran Warns Of Unrestrained Response If Gulf Islands Attacked
Iran warns of severe retaliation if US or Israel target Gulf islands.
Iran has warned it will “abandon all restraint” if the United States and Israel attack Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, according to a statement by parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The warning comes amid intensifying hostilities involving Iran, the United States and Israel across the Middle East.
Ghalibaf said Tehran would respond without limits if the islands were targeted, signaling that Iran could significantly escalate its military response in the Gulf. While he did not specify which islands were under threat, reports have suggested that strategically important Iranian islands in the region could be potential targets in the ongoing conflict.
The warning comes as the wider confrontation between Iran and its adversaries continues to spread across the region. Over the past two weeks, missile and drone strikes have been reported in multiple Gulf states, while U.S. and Israeli forces have intensified airstrikes on Iranian targets. The conflict has already caused widespread instability and raised fears of a broader regional war.

Iran has also expanded attacks on shipping lanes and energy infrastructure across the Gulf, contributing to a sharp surge in global oil prices and disruptions to maritime trade. The Strait of Hormuz—one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints—has been heavily affected, with shipping traffic reduced amid security threats and military activity.
Regional tensions have also spilled into neighbouring countries. Drone strikes and missile interceptions have been reported in several Gulf states, while ports and fuel facilities have faced attacks or attempted strikes. For instance, explosions at a major port in Oman recently triggered concerns about the security of global energy supply routes.
Analysts say Tehran’s latest warning reflects a strategy aimed at deterring further attacks on its territory while signaling its willingness to escalate if provoked. With military operations continuing and diplomatic efforts struggling to contain the crisis, the situation in the Gulf remains volatile, raising concerns about further economic and security fallout worldwide.
