Iran Says US Could Face Consequences Over Israel’s Military Actions In Lebanon
Iran warns the US of broader consequences if Israel continues military operations in Lebanon, escalating regional tensions.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States of “consequences on all fronts” if Israel’s military operations in Lebanon continue, escalating diplomatic tensions amid ongoing regional conflict. In a post on social media platform X, Araghchi claimed that the ceasefire framework involving Iran and the US extends to Lebanon, and that any violation in one theatre would be treated as a violation across all fronts.
Araghchi stated that “its violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts,” signalling a broader interpretation of existing ceasefire arrangements and warning that continued escalation could trigger wider repercussions involving both the United States and Israel. His remarks come amid intensified military activity in southern Lebanon, where Israel has been conducting strikes targeting Hezbollah positions.
Israel has stated that its operations are directed against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group that operates in Lebanon. The group has been a central actor in cross-border hostilities, and tensions have escalated significantly since the outbreak of renewed fighting in the region. Iran, meanwhile, has repeatedly condemned Israeli military actions and accused Western powers of enabling the escalation.

According to reports cited by Al Jazeera, more than 3,000 people have been killed in Lebanon since the latest wave of strikes began, including hundreds of women and children. The humanitarian situation has further deteriorated, with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimating that over one million people have been displaced due to the ongoing conflict, according to reports referenced by the BBC.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also criticised the escalation, linking Western support to what he described as violations of international agreements. In a statement posted on X, he referred to the naval blockade and continued military operations as evidence of non-compliance with ceasefire understandings, warning that “every choice has a price.”
The latest remarks from Iranian officials reflect growing regional tensions and underline the fragile nature of diplomatic efforts aimed at containing the conflict. With hostilities continuing in Lebanon and strong rhetoric from multiple sides, concerns remain high over the potential for further escalation involving regional and global powers.
