Indian-Origin New Jersey Mother Arrested for Shocking Murder of Her Two Young Sons
Indian-origin New Jersey woman arrested for allegedly murdering her two sons (5 & 7).
Authorities in New Jersey have arrested Priyatharsini Natarajan, 35, of Hillsborough, on charges of murdering her two young children. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, leaving the local community in shock. The children, aged 5 and 7, were found lifeless inside their family home.
According to Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald, the father of the children called 911 around 6:45 pm after discovering his sons unconscious upon returning home. He reportedly told authorities that “his wife did something to them,” prompting immediate police intervention.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found Natarajan and her husband inside the home. Responding police and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on the children, but both boys were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have withheld the children’s identities pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner.

Natarajan has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She was taken into custody by Hillsborough Police and is currently detained at Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
The investigation is being led by detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, with support from the Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials are conducting a thorough probe into the circumstances leading up to the deaths.
A postmortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause and manner of death, which will provide further clarity on the tragic incident. Prosecutors have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and all relevant details will be released once verified.
