Indian Embassy In Muscat Issues Oman Visa Advisory Amid Rising Iran-Israel-US Tensions
Indian Embassy in Muscat advises Indians to secure Oman e-Visas amid Middle East conflict.
The Embassy of India in Muscat on Sunday issued an advisory for Indian nationals regarding visa requirements amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. The advisory clarified that travellers must obtain a visit or tourist visa in advance, with an e-Visa application to be submitted through authorised travel agents via the Royal Oman Police website.
While prior visa approval is mandatory, the embassy noted that visa-on-arrival facilities remain available under specific conditions. Indian passport holders holding a valid visa or residence permit from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, or Schengen countries may enter Oman for up to 14 days without a pre-arranged visa. Eligible travellers are required to carry a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking, and valid health insurance.
Indian citizens residing in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, with valid resident cards, are also eligible for visa-on-arrival.

The embassy further reminded applicants to ensure their passports are valid for at least six months at the time of applying for a visa. The advisory is part of precautionary measures amid rising tensions in West Asia, aimed at keeping Indian nationals informed about travel requirements and ensuring smooth entry into Oman.
Officials stressed that travellers should monitor updates from the embassy and follow all instructions carefully to avoid disruptions during the ongoing regional crisis.
