India Terms Fujairah Attack Unacceptable After Three Nationals Injured
India condemns Fujairah attack, urges peace after three nationals injured in UAE strikes.
India on Tuesday strongly condemned an attack on the UAE port city of Fujairah, calling the incident “unacceptable” and demanding an immediate end to all hostilities. The statement came after reports confirmed that three Indian nationals were injured during the strike. The Indian government described the targeting of civilian areas as deeply concerning and reiterated its call for restraint in the region.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stressed that attacks affecting civilians and infrastructure cannot be justified under any circumstances. It said India is closely monitoring the situation and remains in constant touch with UAE authorities regarding the condition of the injured Indian citizens. The MEA also highlighted that India continues to advocate dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable path to resolve tensions in West Asia.
The attack on Fujairah has drawn global attention due to the city’s strategic importance in the international energy supply chain. The Fujairah oil industry zone allows the UAE to export crude oil through the Gulf of Oman, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical and sensitive shipping corridors. Any disruption in this region raises serious concerns for global energy security and maritime trade stability.

India’s embassy in Abu Dhabi confirmed that it is providing assistance to the injured and coordinating with local authorities to ensure proper medical care and support. Officials said they are actively engaged with UAE agencies to track developments and safeguard the welfare of Indian nationals in the region. The UAE hosts one of the largest Indian expatriate populations in the world, making such incidents particularly significant for bilateral consular concerns.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the attack formed part of a larger wave of aerial strikes involving ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran. UAE air defence systems reportedly intercepted multiple incoming threats, preventing wider damage. The incident comes amid already heightened regional tensions, underscoring fears of further escalation and its potential impact on global energy routes and civilian safety.
