India-Kenya to hold joint commission in Delhi for stronger ties.
India and Kenya are set to convene the Kenya-India Joint Commission for Cooperation in New Delhi, aiming to bolster bilateral ties and enhance collaboration across trade, investment, digital public infrastructure, and cultural exchanges. The announcement came after a meeting between India’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Adarsh Swaika, and Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia W. Mudavadi.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed recent and forthcoming high-level exchanges, reflecting the depth of the India-Kenya partnership. They emphasized expanding cooperation in key sectors including development partnerships, people-to-people ties, trade facilitation, and digital infrastructure, highlighting the historic and enduring relationship between the two maritime neighbors.
Mudavadi highlighted that India and Kenya share a century-long bond rooted in brotherhood, shared values, and mutual interests. The discussion also included India’s upcoming AI Impact Summit and the Raisina Dialogue, with Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto invited to participate, underscoring Kenya’s growing engagement in India’s global initiatives.

The Joint Commission in Delhi is expected to set a clear, results-oriented agenda aimed at delivering tangible outcomes for both nations. Areas of focus will include boosting trade, tourism, investment, and technological cooperation, reinforcing a long-term strategic partnership.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs noted that the India-Kenya relationship is characterized by frequent high-level engagements, growing economic ties, and deepening people-to-people connections, making the joint commission a pivotal step in advancing bilateral cooperation in the 21st century.
