India’s Foreign Secretary held talks with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio in Washington, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation across defence, trade, and strategic technology sectors, amid broader efforts to deepen India–U.S. ties.
During the meeting, both sides discussed key regional and global developments, including Indo-Pacific security dynamics, supply chain resilience, and ongoing economic collaboration between New Delhi and Washington. The discussions were described as part of regular high-level engagement aimed at advancing shared strategic priorities.
Officials familiar with the talks said the meeting also helped lay the groundwork for an upcoming visit by a senior U.S. diplomat to India next month. The planned visit is expected to include meetings with top Indian leadership and focus on expanding cooperation in emerging technologies, critical minerals, and defence-industrial partnerships.
