Hyderabad Couple Missing In Switzerland After Allegedly Taking Crores From Multiple Investors

Investors await answers after Hyderabad couple vanish in Switzerland.

A Hyderabad-based businessman and his wife, who travelled to Switzerland for a holiday nearly three weeks ago, have been reported missing, prompting a police investigation into their disappearance. At the same time, authorities are also probing allegations that the couple may have fled after allegedly collecting crores of rupees from investors. Investigators are examining both the missing persons complaint and the financial allegations as part of an ongoing inquiry.

The missing couple has been identified as Pabba Chandrasekhar (51), a businessman, and his wife Swapna (42), a homemaker. According to their 23-year-old daughter, Shreya, the couple left Hyderabad for a vacation in Switzerland on June 22. She told police that her parents remained in regular contact with family members during the initial phase of their trip but suddenly stopped communicating after July 8. Since then, repeated attempts to contact them have failed, with both of their mobile phones either switched off or remaining out of network coverage.

Concerned by the prolonged lack of communication, Shreya, who works as a software professional, approached the police and filed a missing persons complaint. Based on her complaint, police registered a case and initiated efforts to trace the couple. Investigators have begun verifying the details provided by the family while coordinating with relevant agencies to establish the couple's movements after they left India.

As part of the investigation, police are scrutinising the couple's travel itinerary, immigration records and financial transactions. Officials are attempting to confirm whether Chandrasekhar and Swapna entered Switzerland as claimed and whether they travelled elsewhere after leaving India. Authorities are also expected to seek assistance from immigration authorities and, if required, international agencies to establish the couple's current location and reconstruct their travel history.

The investigation has taken on added significance following allegations that the businessman may have collected large sums of money from multiple investors before leaving the country. Police are examining these claims alongside the missing persons case to determine whether the disappearance is connected to any financial irregularities. At this stage, officials have not confirmed the nature or extent of the alleged investments, and no conclusions have been drawn regarding the allegations.

Police have emphasised that the investigation remains at a preliminary stage and that multiple possibilities are being examined. Officials are expected to continue gathering documentary evidence, including bank records, travel documents and statements from family members and individuals linked to the alleged investments. Until the inquiry is completed, authorities have not determined whether the couple are missing under suspicious circumstances or deliberately left India. The outcome of the investigation will depend on the findings of the travel, financial and immigration inquiries currently underway.
