Honda Two-Wheeler Sales Jump 29% YoY to 5.74 Lakh Units in January 2026

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) achieved a remarkable milestone in January 2026, selling a total of 5,74,411 units, including 5,19,579 domestic units and 54,832 exports. This represents a 29% year-on-year growth compared to January 2025, reinforcing HMSI’s position as a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in India.

For the Year-to-Date period of FY26 (April 2025–January 2026), HMSI recorded cumulative sales of 52,53,205 units, with 47,23,979 units sold domestically and 5,29,226 units shipped abroad. The sustained growth highlights the brand’s ability to meet rising consumer demand while strengthening its presence in international markets.

Beyond sales, HMSI continued to prioritise road safety and community engagement in January. Under its “Safety for Everyone” initiative, the company conducted awareness campaigns across cities such as Ahmednagar, Guwahati, Raipur, and Surat, promoting responsible riding practices and encouraging public participation in safe mobility efforts.

In Kerala, HMSI hosted a Road Safety Convention in Malappuram, collaborating with school principals and teachers to instill safe road habits among students. The company also launched the Jaipur Ideal Road Safety Project during National Road Safety Month, alongside nationwide awareness drives, underscoring its proactive role in educating communities about road safety.

On the retail front, HMSI expanded its dealership network, inaugurating new outlets in Erode, Bilaspur, Moradabad, and Udhampur. Each dealership is equipped with trained sales and service teams to ensure enhanced customer experience, greater accessibility, and stronger last-mile reach for its two-wheeler products.

Reiterating its long-term vision, HMSI emphasised the integration of advanced safety technologies across its lineup, including Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS), Combined Braking Systems (CBS), and rider-assist features. These efforts demonstrate the company’s commitment to safer, cleaner, and more sustainable mobility solutions in India, beyond regulatory compliance.
