Grimes Claims Elon Musk Blocked Her on X, Rules Out Public Dramatics
Grimes says Elon Musk blocked her on X, stressing co-parenting priorities and rejecting social media-driven controversies.
Canadian Musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, has claimed that her former partner, Elon Musk, blocked her on the social media platform X, which he owns. The allegation surfaced after an X user noted that Grimes was no longer following Musk, prompting her to clarify the situation in a public post. Grimes emphasised her focus on co-parenting their three children while dismissing the matter as minor.
In her response on X dated December 11, 2025, Grimes wrote, "For context, I'm just living my life. He followed me and then blocked me. I'm not going to be following and unfollowing. My only priority is co-parenting; I am not interested in public dramatics. This is so silly lol." The exchange highlights ongoing dynamics between the pair, who share son X Æ A-Xii, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, and son Techno Mechanicus.
Musk and Grimes first went public with their relationship in 2018 at the Met Gala. After an on-and-off romance, they separated permanently in 2022. Since then, they have navigated co-parenting amid public scrutiny, including a 2023 petition by Grimes to establish parental rights and her expressed concerns over their children's exposure in media and public events.

The incident has drawn attention due to Musk's ownership of X, formerly Twitter, but neither party has provided further comment beyond Grimes' initial statement. It underscores the challenges of maintaining privacy and communication in high-profile estranged relationships involving shared children.
