Google Maps Mishap Lands Woman’s Audi in Ditch
Google Maps Leads Driver to Disaster
A woman in Navi Mumbai drove her Audi into a ditch early Friday after Google Maps misdirected her, police reported. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the Belapur area when the woman, heading home to Ulwe from her salon business in Kharghar, followed the app’s directions.
Instead of guiding her to the Bay Bridge, Google Maps led her to Dhruvtara Jetty, where her car plunged into a ditch. The woman, the sole occupant, was unharmed but trapped.
Alerted by locals, Belapur police, assisted by a marine security team and their boat, swiftly rescued her. Authorities safely extracted the woman and her vehicle, with no injuries reported.
