Gaza’s Heartbreaking Toll: Over 60,000 Dead in 21-Month Israel-Hamas War Nightmare!
Gaza Health Ministry reports over 60,000 Palestinian deaths in 21-month Israel-Hamas war, with famine looming.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported on July 29, 2025, that over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in the 21-month Israel-Hamas war, with 145,870 wounded since Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,200 and abducted 251. The ministry, staffed by medical professionals and deemed reliable by the UN, notes that women and children constitute about half the deaths, though it doesn’t distinguish between civilians and militants. Israel’s offensive has devastated Gaza, displacing 90% of its 2.3 million residents and triggering a dire humanitarian crisis, with famine warnings escalating.
In the past day alone, Israeli strikes killed at least 70 Palestinians, including 58 near an aid convoy in southern Gaza and seven at the Gaza Humanitarian Fund site in central Gaza, per local hospitals. Airstrikes in Nuseirat killed 30, including 12 children and 14 women. Israel claims it targets only militants, blaming civilian deaths on Hamas’ operations in populated areas, while the military reported striking rocket launchers and tunnels. The Gaza Humanitarian Fund and Israel offered no comment on the shootings, though past statements cite warning shots for perceived threats.
A 2.5-month blockade imposed in March 2024, followed by renewed bombardment, killed 8,867 since then, despite a partial easing in May. UN agencies report insufficient aid due to restrictions and lawlessness. The health system is crippled, with hospitals barely functioning. Malnutrition has claimed 88 children and 58 adults since the war began, per the World Health Organization. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar rejected “starvation policy” claims, calling them a “distorted campaign” that hampers ceasefire talks, which have stalled with 50 hostages still held, about 20 believed alive.
