Gaza Civil Defence Reports Seven Deaths In Latest Israeli Strikes

Seven killed in Gaza as Israeli strikes continue, civil defence says.

Gaza’s civil defence agency said Israeli airstrikes killed at least seven people overnight, as fresh violence hit the territory despite a fragile ceasefire that has been in place since late 2025.According to Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the civil defence rescue service, the strikes targeted multiple locations across central and southern Gaza. One of the deadliest incidents occurred in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, where an Israeli drone reportedly fired missiles near a police post, killing several people and injuring others.

Medical officials confirmed the casualties, with Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza receiving six bodies and several wounded, including critically injured patients. Another nearby facility, Al-Awda Hospital, reported at least one additional fatality along with multiple injuries, indicating the scale of the attack across different sites.

Separate strikes were also reported in southern Gaza, including in areas near Khan Younis, where drones hit tents housing displaced people. Rescue teams said they faced difficult conditions reaching victims amid ongoing shelling and infrastructure damage, complicating emergency response efforts.

The Israeli military said it was reviewing the reports but did not immediately confirm details of the strikes. Israel has maintained that its operations target militant threats, while Palestinian officials and humanitarian groups have repeatedly reported civilian casualties in densely populated areas.

The latest incident underscores the fragility of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, with both sides frequently accusing each other of violations. Since the truce began, hundreds of Palestinians have reportedly been killed in continued strikes, according to Gaza health authorities.

The renewed violence comes amid worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where ongoing conflict, displacement, and limited access for international media and aid agencies continue to hamper relief efforts and independent verification of events on the ground.
