Fire Reported At Israeli Industrial Site After Missile Shrapnel Impact

A major fire broke out at an industrial facility in southern Israel after shrapnel from an Iranian missile struck the site, as the escalating regional conflict continues to spill over into critical infrastructure areas. The incident occurred in the Neot Hovav industrial zone, located about 12 kilometres from the city of Beersheba. The area is one of Israel’s key industrial hubs, housing dozens of chemical plants and factories. According to Israeli emergency services, the impact hit a pesticide tank, triggering a hazardous materials situation and prompting an immediate large-scale response.

Firefighters rushed to the scene to contain the blaze, which sent thick plumes of smoke into the air and raised concerns about potential toxic exposure. Authorities evacuated workers from nearby facilities and advised residents in surrounding areas to take safety precautions, including staying indoors and avoiding the affected zone.

At least one person was reported injured, though officials indicated that casualties were limited. Emergency teams worked to prevent the fire from spreading further, particularly given the presence of hazardous materials in the industrial complex. In some reports, multiple fire crews were deployed due to the scale and risk associated with the blaze.
