Finland President Alexander Stubb to Visit India, Attend Raisina Dialogue, Meet PM Modi

Finland President Alexander Stubb to visit India March 4–7 for Raisina Dialogue and bilateral talks.

Finland President Alexander Stubb will undertake a state visit to India from March 4 to 7 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking his first visit to the country in his current capacity. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Stubb will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials, and business leaders. He is scheduled to be the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the 11th Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi.

During his stay in New Delhi, Stubb and PM Modi are expected to hold wide-ranging discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors. The talks will include regional and global issues of mutual interest, as well as collaboration in multilateral forums. PM Modi will also host a lunch in Stubb’s honour.

President Stubb is set to meet with Droupadi Murmu, while Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on him during the visit. These engagements underscore the emphasis India places on high-level political dialogue with Finland.

Following his New Delhi engagements, Stubb will travel to Mumbai, where he will meet the Governor and Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He is also scheduled to interact with Indian business leaders at an India-Finland business event and address students at the University of Mumbai.

The MEA highlighted that India and Finland share warm, multi-faceted relations rooted in democratic values. Finland is regarded as a valued partner for India within the European Union and the Nordic region, with both countries demonstrating a strong commitment to deepening cooperation across political, economic, and cultural spheres.

This visit follows Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s trip to India for the AI Impact Summit in February 2026 and reflects the mutual intent to further strengthen bilateral ties and people-to-people linkages between India and Finland.
