Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi Pledges Solidarity With Anti-Regime Demonstrators

Reza Pahlavi, the US-based son of Iran's deposed Shah, has delivered a powerful message of solidarity to anti-government protesters, assuring them that he will soon be by their side. In a statement posted on X, Pahlavi addressed the demonstrators as "my compatriots," praising their three consecutive nights of street presence for severely weakening Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's repressive machinery. He claimed reliable reports indicate a severe shortage of mercenaries, with many armed forces refusing orders to suppress the people.

Pahlavi warned protesters to avoid moving alone or entering side streets that could endanger their lives, while emphasizing that they are not isolated in their struggle. He highlighted widespread global support, noting that compatriots worldwide are amplifying their voices and that the international community, led by US President Donald Trump, admires their courage. The exiled prince urged demonstrators to hold their ground, stating that the remaining forces loyal to Khamenei consist mainly of non-Iranian mercenaries who will face consequences for their actions.

The protests, now in their third week, have escalated into a nationwide movement demanding the removal of the clerical regime. What began as demonstrations against economic hardship and sanctions has transformed into open calls for revolutionary change. Despite a near-total internet blackout since Thursday and reports of dozens of deaths, protesters continue to defy the crackdown, with human rights groups documenting significant casualties and mass detentions.

The statements have intensified speculation about possible American involvement in the crisis.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded defiantly, accusing Trump of hubris and warning that the Islamic Republic, built on the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands, will not yield to those seeking destruction. He dismissed the protesters as "rioters" relying on foreign backing and asserted that the regime remains steadfast. The escalating rhetoric between global leaders and the Iranian government underscores the increasingly volatile nature of the unfolding situation.
