Elon Musk Claims Rejection of Epstein Invite Via Hoffman on X

Musk and Hoffman exchange accusations on X over Epstein connections.

A heated exchange erupted on social media platform X on Sunday as Tesla and SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman traded sharp accusations over their alleged past associations with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, whose sex trafficking case continues to cast a long shadow over global elites.

The public spat began after Musk claimed that Epstein had once attempted to use Hoffman’s name to persuade him to visit Epstein’s private island. In a post on X, Musk alleged that Epstein referenced Hoffman’s presence there as a way to entice him, adding that the tactic backfired and discouraged him instead. Musk shared what he described as a screenshot to support his claim, reigniting scrutiny around Epstein’s network of powerful connections.

Hoffman swiftly rejected Musk’s version of events, calling it “disgusting” and accusing the billionaire entrepreneur of deflecting attention from his own conduct. The LinkedIn co-founder countered by alleging that Musk had been eager to visit Epstein’s island and was actively seeking invitations to high-profile gatherings, a claim Musk has denied.

In a sharply worded response, Hoffman accused Musk of making false accusations to shield himself from criticism. He also challenged Musk to leverage his political influence to seek accountability for Epstein’s victims rather than engaging in what he described as public mudslinging. The exchange quickly gained traction online, drawing intense reactions from supporters and critics of both tech leaders.

Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, maintained relationships with prominent figures across business, politics, and academia. While neither Musk nor Hoffman has been charged with any wrongdoing related to Epstein, their social media clash underscores how associations—real or alleged—continue to surface years after the financier’s death.

The confrontation highlights the enduring sensitivity surrounding Epstein’s legacy and the reputational risks faced by high-profile figures when past links are publicly debated. As the accusations ricochet across social media, the episode serves as another reminder of how unresolved questions around Epstein’s network remain a flashpoint in public discourse.
