Earthquake Shakes Kishtwar, J&K

3.1 magnitude quake hits Kishtwar, no damage reported.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir at 1:36 AM on Monday, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The quake’s epicenter was located near Kishtwar, at a depth of 10 km, with coordinates at 33.17 degrees north latitude and 75.87 degrees east longitude.

Officials reported no casualties or damage to property, but the early morning tremor briefly alarmed local residents. Kishtwar, situated in a seismically active region, has experienced minor quakes in the past, prompting authorities to urge preparedness for future seismic events.
