Dubai Mall Staff's Care For Injured Child Wins Praise Online

An Indian man living in Dubai has praised employees at the Mall of the Emirates for the care they showed his five-year-old daughter after she suffered a minor injury during a family visit. While the staff’s immediate assistance impressed him, he said an unexpected follow-up call from the mall’s customer service team the next day made the experience particularly memorable and strengthened his appreciation for the city.

Ravii Chauhan shared a video on Instagram describing how the incident occurred while he was visiting the shopping centre with his daughter, Adheera. According to Chauhan, the child accidentally slipped and fell near an escalator, leaving her with a minor scratch. Mall security personnel quickly noticed the situation and approached the family to offer assistance, ensuring that the child received attention without any unnecessary delay.

The security team provided Adheera with first aid and carefully placed a bandage over the injured area. Staff members also gave her a chocolate in an effort to comfort her and help her recover from the shock of the fall. Chauhan said his daughter soon felt better following the treatment, allowing the family to continue shopping before eventually returning home. At that point, they believed their interaction with the mall staff had ended.

However, the family received an unexpected telephone call from the Mall of the Emirates customer service department the following day. The employees asked Chauhan about Adheera’s recovery and wanted to know how she was feeling after the incident. He added that his daughter personally spoke to the staff members during the call. The follow-up surprised the family because the injury had been minor, yet the mall’s representatives had still taken the time to check on her wellbeing.

Reflecting on the experience, Chauhan said people frequently speak about Dubai’s luxury, large buildings, lifestyle and professional opportunities but may overlook the importance of small, thoughtful gestures. He said the concern shown by the mall employees demonstrated how everyday acts of kindness and responsibility could leave a lasting impression. Such care, he added, may not be experienced everywhere and was among the qualities that made Dubai different from many other places.

Chauhan shared the video with a caption stating that the smallest moments can sometimes reveal the most about a place. He said the manner in which people responded after his daughter was hurt had genuinely touched him and made both him and Adheera happy. The post attracted supportive reactions from social media users, many of whom echoed his praise for Dubai and the wider UAE. One user wrote that Dubai would “never disappoint anyone,” while another described the UAE as “the best.”
