Delhi Metro Services Kick Off at 3 AM on Republic Day 2026 for Easy Access
Delhi Metro starts at 3 AM on Jan 26 with free rides for parade invite holders.
As preparations ramp up for Republic Day 2026, Delhi Metro will make special arrangements to ensure smooth access to the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. For the first time, new facilities are being introduced to make reaching the parade venue easier for spectators.
Delhi Metro services will begin early, starting at 3 AM on January 26, 2026, to facilitate timely travel for attendees. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has warned that due to heightened security measures, entry and exit gates at selected stations — including Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate, and ITO — will remain temporarily closed from 3 AM until the conclusion of the parade.
To further ease movement, free Metro tickets will be provided along with invitation cards. These tickets are valid for both onward and return journeys, but only passengers carrying a valid invitation or ticket and a government-issued photo ID will be allowed to avail this facility. Free ticket holders can alight at Udyog Bhawan or Central Secretariat stations to reach their designated seating areas.
