Delhi 10/11 Blast Update: Haryana Police Detain Faridabad Car Dealer Linked To Red Fort Suicide Bomber
Hyundai i20 sold by Sonu became Delhi’s death machine.
In a major breakthrough, Haryana Police on Tuesday night detained Faridabad used-car dealer Sonu, owner of Royal Car Zone in Sector 37, after investigators confirmed that the white Hyundai i20 that turned into a fireball near Red Fort on Monday evening, killing thirteen and injuring twenty, was sold through his showroom to the prime suspect — suicide bomber Dr Umar Mohammad.
Sources reveal the deadly car changed hands a staggering seven times in just months, travelling from Gurugram to Okhla, then Ambala, and finally reaching Pulwama in Kashmir, where Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives Aamir Rashid and Tariq Malik handed the keys to Dr Umar, with CCTV footage from October 29 showing the vehicle undergoing a pollution check right opposite Royal Car Zone just days before it was packed with explosives.
Sonu has been formally handed over to Delhi Police Special Cell for intense interrogation, as investigators race to establish whether the dealer knowingly facilitated the sale to terror-linked individuals or was merely a pawn in a meticulously planned operation that saw the i20 transformed from a family hatchback into India’s latest weapon of mass murder.

Dr Umar Mohammad, born in Pulwama in 1989, was no ordinary doctor — he held an MD from Srinagar’s Government Medical College, worked as senior resident in Anantnag, and was posted at Faridabad’s Al Falah Medical College when he vanished after his two doctor aides were arrested with the massive explosive haul on Monday morning, forcing him into a panicked lone-wolf strike at 6:52 pm that turned Subhas Marg into a war zone.
With charred hand fragments and body parts recovered from the twisted wreckage now undergoing urgent DNA testing to confirm Umar’s death, and 22 nearby vehicles still smouldering when fire tenders finally doused the flames after 30 minutes of chaos, the arrest of the car dealer marks the first domino to fall in what promises to be a nationwide hunt to dismantle the entire "white-collar" terror network that brought death to the heart of the national capital.
