Death Toll in the US-Israeli Strike in Iran rises to 40, Dozens Injured
State media reports 40 killed and dozens injured in strike on school in southern Iran.
The death toll from an alleged joint US–Israeli strike on a girls’ school in southern Iran has risen to at least 40, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency. The incident, reported in the city of Minab, has also left at least 45 people injured, officials said.
Iranian authorities stated that the strike hit a school facility in the Hormozgan province, intensifying tensions in the region. Emergency services transported the wounded to nearby medical facilities, while rescue operations continued in the aftermath of the attack. The full extent of the damage has not yet been independently verified.
Minab hosts a base belonging to Iran’s paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a factor that may have strategic implications, though officials have not confirmed whether the facility was the intended target. Iranian state media strongly condemned the strike and described it as a major escalation.
