Deadly Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill 19 as Ceasefire Hopes Fade

Gaza strikes kill civilians, talks stall

Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on July 13, 2025, claimed at least 19 lives, including six children at a water collection point, local hospitals reported. The attacks, part of a broader assault on over 150 targets, deepen the toll of the 21-month war, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting over 57,800 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children. Ceasefire talks remain stalled, with Israel demanding Hamas surrender and Hamas seeking a full Israeli withdrawal to free the remaining 50 hostages.

In Nuseirat, a strike on a water collection point killed 10, including six children, as residents queued for water after a 2-km journey, said witness Ramadan Nassar. In Zawaida, nine died, including three children, in a home strike, per Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. Israel attributes civilian casualties to Hamas operating in populated areas but offered no comment on specific strikes.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, funerals were held for Palestinian-American Sayfollah Musallet, 20, and Mohammed al-Shalabi, killed in a settler attack. Musallet, a Florida native, was allegedly beaten on his family’s land, sparking calls for a U.S. investigation. Mourners in Al-Mazraa a-Sharqiya demanded justice, while Israel’s military claimed the incident followed Palestinian rock-throwing.
