Cancel Netflix: Elon Musk Urges Parents to Protect Their Kids
Musk urges fans to ditch Netflix over controversial content.
Billionaire entrepreneur and X owner Elon Musk, with a staggering net worth of approximately $500 billion, has ignited a firestorm by calling for a mass boycott of Netflix, accusing the streaming giant of promoting a "woke agenda" in its children’s programming. The controversy erupted on September 30, 2025, when Musk reacted to a clip from the animated series Dead End: Paranormal Park, shared by the right-wing account Libs of TikTok, which highlighted a transgender character in the show. Musk’s blunt response, "This is not ok," set off a chain reaction that has since dominated online discourse.
The clip in question, from a show rated TV-Y7 for viewers aged seven and up, prompted Libs of TikTok to criticize Netflix for "pushing pro-transgender content on children." Musk amplified this sentiment, escalating his rhetoric on October 1 by posting, "Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids." He revealed that he had already canceled his own subscription and urged his 227 million followers on X to follow suit. Over the next three days, Musk posted or reposted at least 26 times, targeting not only Dead End: Paranormal Park—which Netflix canceled after two seasons—but also other children’s shows like CoComelon and The Baby-Sitters Club, alleging they contain "pro-trans themes."
Musk’s campaign didn’t stop at content criticism. He also shared posts accusing Netflix of "anti-white hiring bias" and criticized its executives for donating to the Democratic Party, framing the company as out of touch with mainstream values. His posts have struck a chord, going viral across X, with countless users sharing screenshots of their canceled Netflix subscriptions in solidarity with the Tesla CEO’s movement. This online uproar has positioned Musk as a leading voice in what he describes as a cultural pushback against progressive ideologies in media.

Despite Dead End: Paranormal Park no longer being actively promoted by Netflix, Musk’s relentless focus on the platform’s children’s programming has kept the issue in the spotlight. As of now, Netflix has remained silent, offering no official response to the billionaire’s accusations or the growing cancel movement. The controversy coincides with Musk’s latest financial milestone: on October 1, Forbes reported his wealth reached $500.1 billion, driven by a surge in Tesla’s stock and the rising valuations of his ventures, including SpaceX and X Corp, making him the first individual to hit this unprecedented mark.
The clash has sparked heated debates online, with supporters praising Musk for challenging what they see as inappropriate content for young audiences, while critics argue his campaign oversimplifies complex issues and unfairly targets creative expression. As the cancel movement gains traction, all eyes are on Netflix to see how—or if—it will address the growing backlash fueled by one of the world’s most influential figures.
