#BreakingNews: Four Gangsters Killed, Three Cops Hurt in Gurugram Shootout

Four alleged gangsters were killed, another was injured and three police personnel sustained gunshot wounds after nearly 60 rounds were fired during a late-night encounter in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok Phase-2 area on Thursday. The exchange of fire began after Crime Branch teams received information about a suspicious Scorpio SUV carrying armed men and rushed to the area to intercept the vehicle.

According to the Gurugram Police, the armed suspects had allegedly opened fire at the residence of a businessman before police teams reached the spot. The businessman had reportedly been receiving repeated extortion threats from a wanted gangster operating from abroad and was believed to be the target of the attack. Multiple Crime Branch teams surrounded the suspects after receiving information about their movement in the area.

Police officials said the suspects were repeatedly asked to surrender after being surrounded by the Crime Branch teams. However, the accused allegedly opened indiscriminate fire at the police personnel in an attempt to escape. The police retaliated in an effort to apprehend the armed men, triggering an intense exchange in which around 60 rounds were fired by the two sides.

All five alleged shooters sustained bullet injuries during the encounter and were taken to a private super-specialty hospital for treatment. Doctors declared four of them dead, while the fifth accused remains admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. Police said the identities of the dead and injured suspects, along with details of their alleged criminal backgrounds, will be released after further verification.

Three Gurugram Police personnel also suffered gunshot injuries during the exchange of fire and were rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. Officials said their condition is being closely monitored by doctors. Following the encounter, teams from the Scene of Crime unit, Forensic Science Laboratory and other investigation units conducted a detailed examination of the area and collected forensic and technical evidence.

Police recovered five foreign-made pistols from the suspects and said further legal proceedings are underway in accordance with the law. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack on the businessman, the suspected extortion threats and the possible links of the accused to the wanted gangster operating from abroad. Authorities are expected to release additional details as the investigation progresses.
