#BREAKING: Ukraine Agrees to 30-Day Ceasefire; US Resumes Aid, Intelligence

Ukraine has agreed to accept an immediate 30-day ceasefire in the conflict with Russia.

In a dramatic diplomatic breakthrough, Ukraine has endorsed a U.S. proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire with Russia, following high-stakes talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The joint statement, released Tuesday, marks a potential turning point in the ongoing conflict, with the United States pledging to lift restrictions on military aid and intelligence sharing in return. The ceasefire, extendable by mutual consent, now hinges on Russia’s acceptance and simultaneous implementation.

“Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire,” the statement read, adding that the U.S. will urge Russia to reciprocate as “the key to achieving peace.”

The deal also includes a commitment to finalize an agreement on Ukrainian minerals “as soon as possible,” hinting at broader economic stakes in the negotiations.

The Biden administration’s move reverses a contentious pause on support, initiated by President Donald Trump after a disastrous February 28 meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Effective immediately, the U.S. will resume security assistance and intelligence cooperation, bolstering Ukraine’s position amid its prolonged struggle against Russian aggression.

Analysts see the Jeddah talks as a rare moment of alignment between Washington and Kyiv, though skepticism remains over Moscow’s response.

Russian officials have yet to comment, leaving the ceasefire’s fate uncertain. If accepted, the truce could pave the way for de-escalation and further negotiations, offering a glimmer of hope after months of deadlock. The world watches as the next move rests with the Kremlin.
