#BREAKING: Russia Thwarts Largest Ever National Drone Offensive By Ukraine
Russian air defenses intercepted 337 Ukrainian drones across 10 regions overnight, marking the largest Ukrainian drone offensive on Russia in three years.
Russian air defenses intercepted 337 Ukrainian drones across 10 regions overnight, marking the largest Ukrainian drone offensive on Russia in three years, the Russian Defence Ministry reported Tuesday. The attack, which claimed one life and injured several, unfolded just hours before a Ukrainian delegation was set to engage in critical talks with U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia aimed at ending the three-year conflict.
The ministry detailed that 126 drones were downed over Kursk, a region partially controlled by Kyiv, while 91 targeted the Moscow area. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed over 70 drones were neutralized en route to the capital, with minor damage to a residential building’s roof. Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported one fatality and nine injuries in the Moscow region, alongside damage to homes and cars. Other affected areas included border regions like Belgorod and Bryansk, and inland zones such as Kaluga and Ryazan. The barrage disrupted six airports, including Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo, and briefly halted train services near Domodedovo.
The assault’s timing coincided with a diplomatic push in Jeddah, where U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his team prepared to meet Ukrainian officials. Kyiv is expected to propose a Black Sea ceasefire, limits on long-range strikes, and prisoner releases, while also eyeing a U.S. deal for its rare earth minerals—a priority for President Donald Trump. Rubio, en route to Jeddah, emphasized an open-ended approach, telling reporters the U.S. aims to gauge Ukraine’s flexibility without imposing terms, comparing it to Russia’s stance.
As drones struck, Ukraine remained silent officially. The attack, penetrating deep into Russia, underscores Kyiv’s escalating drone capabilities amid a war now blending trench warfare with advanced technology, setting a tense backdrop for the Saudi talks.
