Bangladesh Lynching Probe Finds No Proof of Blasphemy by Victim
Bangladesh mob kills man despite zero evidence.
Investigations conducted by Bangladesh's elite Rapid Action Battalion into the horrific lynching of 25-year-old Hindu garment factory worker Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh district uncovered absolutely no direct evidence or witness testimony confirming that the victim ever uttered, wrote, or posted any derogatory remarks about Islam or anything capable of hurting religious sentiments on social media or elsewhere.
A senior Company Commander from the counterterrorism force informed prominent local media outlets that thorough interrogations of Das's immediate colleagues at the garment factory, fellow workers, supervisors, and numerous local residents failed to produce a single firsthand account, with all individuals consistently stating they never personally heard or saw the young man engage in any behavior deemed blasphemous or offensive to religion.
The fatal chain of events ignited late Friday night when baseless rumours swiftly circulated among agitated factory labourers alleging that Das had made insulting comments about Prophet Muhammad, fueling demands for his immediate sacking and rapidly escalating into a large, uncontrollable mob assembling outside the factory premises with growing hostility.

Factory management, including the floor in-charge Alamgir Hossain, attempted initial de-escalation by terminating Das's employment on the spot and reluctantly pushing him outside the gates in a misguided effort to safeguard the building and remaining staff, only for the enraged crowd to seize him immediately and unleash a brutal assault using sticks, rods, and other improvised weapons until he succumbed.
Following the merciless beating that claimed Das's life, the mob proceeded to hang his lifeless body from a tree positioned on the median of the busy Dhaka-Mymensingh highway before dousing it with fuel and setting it ablaze, with perpetrators filming the gruesome spectacle on mobile phones as videos spread rapidly across social media platforms, while authorities arrested ten individuals in connection with the crime and the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government issued a strong condemnation affirming zero tolerance for mob violence and promising full accountability for all involved.
