The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced on September 25, 2025, that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate the 16th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from October 15 to 17. The exhibition will showcase state-of-the-art technologies, solutions, and services aimed at modernizing India’s rail and metro sectors.
Recognized as Asia’s largest and the world’s second-largest rail-and-transportation showcase, IREE 2025 underscores India’s position as the operator of the world’s third-largest railway network. The event will feature over 30,000 railway products, highlighting India’s engineering prowess and its ambition to lead globally in rail technology. According to the CII, IREE serves as a vital platform for fostering partnerships, accelerating modernization, and integrating sustainable solutions into India’s rail ecosystem.
“This year’s IREE reflects the strong collaboration between CII and the Ministry of Railways, showcasing India’s engineering excellence and fostering global partnerships,” the CII stated. The event will see robust participation from Indian Railways and international technology leaders, driving innovation and private sector involvement in India’s rail modernization agenda. B Thiagarajan, Chairman of the CII Trade Fair Council, emphasized, “IREE 2025 aims to facilitate business partnerships and showcase India’s growing capabilities in railway technology, supporting the nation’s vision of a world-class rail network.”
