Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating the state’s cultural heritage during his official visit to Tokyo. Modi’s decision to wear the traditional Tukok attire of the Galo tribe during his engagements in Japan brought global attention to Arunachal Pradesh’s rich traditions and craftsmanship. In a heartfelt post on X, Khandu lauded Modi for making the state proud by showcasing its vibrant identity on an international platform.

Khandu emphasized that Modi’s gesture aligns with the #VocalForLocal campaign, celebrating India’s indigenous heritage. “On behalf of Arunachal Pradesh, I extend heartfelt thanks to the Hon’ble PM for honoring our traditions and securing international recognition,” Khandu stated, highlighting the significance of this cultural spotlight. The Tukok, a symbol of the Galo tribe’s artistry, resonated as a powerful emblem of India’s diverse cultural tapestry.

During his address at the India-Japan Economic Forum in Tokyo, Modi underscored the deep business ties that form a cornerstone of India-Japan relations. He urged Japanese industries to engage more deeply with India’s growth story through the ‘Make in India’ initiative, stating, “The world is not just watching India but counting on it.” Modi also highlighted the transformative potential of combining Japan’s advanced technology with India’s skilled talent, envisioning a “technological revolution” for the century.
