AI Is Key Challenge for Humanity! Pope Leo XIV Outlines Papal Vision

Pope Leo XIV Outlines Papal Vision, Flags AI as Key Challenge for Humanity

In his first formal audience as pontiff, Pope Leo XIV articulated his vision for the papacy, emphasizing artificial intelligence (AI) as a critical challenge facing humanity.

Speaking to the cardinals who elected him, the former Cardinal Robert Prevost, now the first U.S.-born pope, reaffirmed his commitment to the modernizing reforms of Pope Francis, aiming for an inclusive Catholic Church that prioritizes the “least and rejected.”

Echoing Francis, Leo XIV endorsed the Second Vatican Council’s 1960s reforms, which opened the Church to greater engagement with the modern world.
