PM Modi Extends Greetings for Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Cheti Chand

PM Modi wishes citizens peace, discipline, and positivity on Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Cheti Chand.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his greetings to the nation on the auspicious occasions of Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Cheti Chand. In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister conveyed prayers for peace, discipline, and positive energy for all citizens.

On the first day of Navratri, dedicated to worshipping Devi Shailaputri, the Prime Minister urged devotees to seek blessings for personal well-being and societal harmony. “On the first day of Navratri, the ritual is to worship Devi Shailaputri, the first form of Maa Durga. May her blessings infuse discipline, peace, and positive energy into everyone's life—this is the heartfelt wish,” he wrote.

In another post, Modi offered salutations to Maa Shailaputri, invoking her as the Mother of the Universe. “I bow to the one who grants desired boons, with the crescent moon adorning her crest. Mounted on a bull, wielding a trident, the glorious Shailaputri. My salutations and obeisance at the feet of the Mother of the Universe, Maa Durga, on behalf of millions of my fellow countrymen! Jai Mata Di!” he added.

The Prime Minister also conveyed best wishes for regional New Year celebrations, including Cheti Chand, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. “Best wishes on Cheti Chand! Praying for a very good year,” he wrote, alongside greetings for Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, acknowledging the diversity of festivities marking the Hindu Nav Varsha and the arrival of spring.

Across the country, devotees gathered in large numbers at prominent temples to offer prayers on the first day of Chaitra Navratri. Temples such as Jhandewalan and Chhatarpur in Delhi, and Mumba Devi in Mumbai, resonated with hymns and the ringing of bells as Aarti ceremonies commenced the nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga.

These celebrations underscore the cultural and spiritual significance of the period, fostering communal devotion and a sense of renewal across India. Modi’s messages reflect both reverence for traditional customs and the unifying spirit of these regional and pan-Indian festivities.
