In response to the incident and growing safety concerns, authorities have banned the movement of two-wheelers on the affected route. This precautionary measure follows repeated reports of tiger sightings near the Mayudia area, a popular tourist destination known for its snowfall and scenic landscapes.
Divisional Forest Officer of Roing, Mito Rumi, confirmed that a tigress and her three sub-adult cubs have been spotted near the roadway over the past several days, especially during nighttime hours. Passers-by had reported multiple sightings, raising fears of human-wildlife conflict.
Forest officials stated that steps are underway to safely relocate the tigers to prevent further incidents. Specialised expert teams equipped with tranquilising gear are being dispatched from Itanagar and other tiger reserves across the state, as authorities work to restore safety for commuters and residents in the region.
