Amit Shah To Inaugurate Multiple Projects During Gujarat Visit On May 28–29

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Gujarat on May 28–29, during which he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects across Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency and Ahmedabad. The visit also includes organisational meetings and review discussions with state-level BJP leaders, highlighting a blend of governance and political engagement in his home constituency.
On the first day of the tour, Shah is expected to begin his programmes in Vadsar, where he will inaugurate the newly developed Jedva Lake under a CSR initiative. He will also inaugurate several libraries in Jalund and Sardhav, developed with corporate social responsibility support from Toyota Kirloskar Motors. These projects are part of broader efforts to enhance public infrastructure and educational access in rural and semi-urban regions of Gujarat.
Further, at Khatraj, Shah will lay the foundation stone for lake beautification works undertaken by the Arvind Foundation and inaugurate a newly constructed village panchayat office. Additional development-related events are scheduled in Moti Bhoyan, where he will inaugurate a Pay Centre Primary School. The day’s agenda also includes multiple projects across Sonipur and nearby areas under the Kalol and Gandhinagar North assembly constituencies.

A notable stop during the visit will be Sonipur village, where Shah is also expected to have lunch at the residence of former sarpanch and senior BJP worker Gandaji Thakor. Later in the day, he will attend a meeting of senior BJP office-bearers at the state party headquarters “Shri Kamalam,” where organisational strategies and party functioning are expected to be discussed.
In Ahmedabad, Shah will inaugurate several key infrastructure and institutional projects, including the CBSE regional office in Chandkheda and a newly constructed hostel building at the Umiyadham campus in Sola. He is also scheduled to unveil a “Bharat Mata” sculpture developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at New Vadaj, reflecting cultural and civic development initiatives in the city.
The visit will conclude with a review meeting at the Circuit House focusing on preparations for major international sporting events, including the Olympic, Commonwealth, and World Police and Fire Games. Shah is also expected to travel to Bhuj in Kutch after completing his engagements on the first day. The two-day tour underscores a mix of infrastructure development, administrative review, and political outreach across Gujarat.
